“Government schools can’t teach reading, writing, and arithmetic–why should we trust them to teach morality, respect, and character? If public education does for ethics what it’s done for learning, we’ll end up with a generation of immoral, disrespectful, and characterless students.” – Steve Dasbach

Summertime BBQ & Garden Tips
This weekend will bring lots of folks outdoors to kick off SUMMER!! Yay!
I’ve got a few tips for you if you will be enjoying some outdoor time, possibly a BBQ or 2, some gardening time, possibly? (Double YAY–as we in the commonly known “NorthWET” aka Northwest, are getting a glorious stretch of summertime weather–unheard of, especially over Memorial Day weekend!).
So–if you’ll be dusting of the grill or spending time in the garden or yard, remember to have your trusty bottle of Vinegar with you! YES, Vinegar!
If you get some glorious weather as we are–take the bottle of vinegar out and at the warmest part of the day, start dousing those weeds that have already sprung up! A couple dousings on hot days will kill them off, no chemical weed killers needed–and MUCH cheaper!
Cleaning the grill or tools for the grill? Get a tupperware container out and put some baking soda in it–about 1/4 cup, then add a cup of Vinegar…once it stops ‘fizzing’, dip your green scrubbie pad in it–and scrub away, or if your grill and/or grill tools are reallly coated in ‘yuck’ from last year–make up a double or even triple batch of this vinegar / baking soda mixture and SOAK your grill grate/tools in it for 15-20 minutes and then scrub
Really loosens up the gunk and cleans them up nicely!
Enjoy your weekend~
