The Homestead Binder, Part II

Filed under: Musings from our Homestead to yours! — Lisa @ 2:22 pm

So, in my first post on  “The Homestead Binder” I talked about gathering up your supplies–binder, divider tabs, etc. I also posed the question–what categories would you need in your binder?

I tried to keep it relatively simple, for my binder– you can be as simplistic or elaborate as suits you. For me, my first category would be the one I turn to each day, to keep me on track.

My ‘Daily Schedule & To Do’s’. I have found, that for me, the Motivated Mom’s Planner is great!  It is simple, direct, very inexpensive–gives me space to write in, (I can put my menus on here, write in extra work meetings or homeschool project deadlines or books to get–I love it!) while giving me an outline of chores to keep up on, bible reading chart–you have to check it out–AND she offers it in a variety of formats–depending on your preference! Go HERE to check out free samples, it might be just the thing for you!  If it is, make sure you put in the code ‘homestead‘ and get an extra $1 OFF your purchase :)

So, next I put together the rest of my binder categories. I just use dividers with tabs, and lined paper for the most part.  In some sections I’ll use page protectors for things I do not care to hole punch. In other sections I have other handy dandy printed off charts, lists, etc.  You can find a ton of neat ones over at www.DonnaYoung.org.

I use this on a daily basis too– it is a basic framework for the daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal chores–and for our homestead, this little gem (called the “Basic Household Cleaning List–mid page)–along with my daily ‘to do’ from Motivated Moms (above) keep me on track (as best I can!) :)   Here is my list of other Binder Categories, that I use–of course, the beauty in this is you make your binder custom–for YOU.
