All About Reading 1 Product Review

I love teaching my children to read. There is nothing like watching them ‘get it’ for the first time….figuring out a word and seeing their faces just LIGHT UP!
We loved All About Reading Pre-1, and you can check out my review HERE. When All About Reading 1 came out, we couldn’t wait to dive in!  My son was so excited to get going, …me too!  All About Reading is laid out so well, it is so easy to implement for both parent and child! :)
The All About Reading program includes:
  1. Teacher’s Manual (sample)
  2. Student Packet (includes Activity Book) (sample)
  3. Run, Bug, Run! reader (sample)
  4. The Runt Pig reader (sample)
  5. Cobweb the Cat reader (sample)

Level 1 consists of the above plus your choice of one of the interactive reading kits shown below.
  1. Letter Tiles
  2. Magnets for the letter tiles
  3. The Basic Phonograms CD Rom
  4. Reading Divider Cards

The Deluxe Reading Interactive Kit contains all of the above plus:
  1. Reading Review Box
  2. Reading Tote Bag
  3. Star stickers for the progress chart

You could get by with just the “Basic Kit” but the extra’s are really nice! You will also need a magnetic whiteboard for the letter tiles.

I love that All About Reading is just laid out for me. I can pick up the bag, land in a cozy spot with my son and we have everything we need to go over our lessons. It is clear, concise and does the job. Not to mention it’s FUN.  The lessons are scripted– that makes it super easy to teach and easy for the student to follow along and enjoy learning to read!

All About Reading teaches using sight, sound and touch. It builds upon itself, in each lesson there is continual review while introducing something new too; not only does that keep it interesting for my son–it keeps it familiar too.A definite WIN- WIN!  The lessons are each set up to similar pattern, but new activities, games and such keep it fun and fresh; keeping little eager learners attention! I’ve used a few different reading programs with my older children; I am so glad to have All About Reading now– it IS top notch!
