Homemade “Bug Be Gone” Spray
Springtime finds us enjoying much more time outdoors; however that also means bug bites! Join me as I show you how to make your own all natural Bug Repellant, a recipe from my book “A Simply Homemade Clean“! You’ll be back outside enjoying the season in no time!
I love time outdoors, but one thing that will drive me right back indoors are the bugs! Commercial bug repellants are chock full of toxins–not exactly what I want soaking into the skin of me or my family–so, I made my own! This is so easy to make and works great! Gather up your supplies and let’s make a batch!
Mama’s Bug-Be-Gone Spray
6-8 oz unused sprayer bottle & small funnel
witch hazel
lemongrass essential oil
geranium essential oil
citronella essential oil
I just put my funnel in the bottle and fill with witch hazel, leaving one inch headspace. I then add in approximately 25 drops of Citronella and Lemongrass Essential Oils, as well as approximately 15 drops of Geranium Essential Oil. Remove funnel, replace sprayer cap, shake up and it is ready to use! I would recommend trying on a small patch of skin first, in case of any allergic reactions and do not spray near eyes. You can find sprayer bottles & witch hazel at any drug store and I get my essential oils from Mountain Rose Herbs.
I made up a little label with the recipe on it, that I placed right on the bottle; so anyone else in the family can make it up too–it’s that simple! Look for this and many more homemade clean recipes in my book “A Simply Homemade Clean” HERE– and check out our review at Abundant Blessings HERE!
